| We place filler over the plastic repair area and shown here is feathering out and leveling out to a smooth surface. | ||
| Generally on most cars in the restoration process the car will wind up being primed twice. The first time shown here is a guide coat used to show minute dents and dings that otherwise might not show up. | ||
| We use a 3M Dusting Powder for a guide coat. You could substitute a cheap can of black spray paint. | ||

| This area is sanded off with a longblock using 180 grit sandpaper. The first thing we see is this dark spot which is a low spot. Any high spots would show up as bare metal and need to be tapped down with a body pick hammer. | ||
| Further sanding reveals several very minute white spots which are also low spots. Clicking the thumb to the left and enlarging picture will reveal this more clearly. These areas will need small amounts of filler. We generally don't use filler more than "a nickel thick". Extremely small imperfections could use putty glaze alone. | ||
