  The car is taken into the booth and masked off for overspray.
     

  Then it is wiped down with a DX330 Wax and Silicone remover. This is followed by a tack rag. These are necessary steps as the oil from your fingerprints can show up in a paint job. These steps promote good adhesion also.
     

  The next step is sealer. Using a good sealer that is recommended for the paint system you are using. This step is critical. Most non-body people don't even know about this step. Most paint companies actually offer a paint warranty but the proper chemicals and steps must be strictly adhered to.
     

  The booth is getting hot so we're doint some "power painting". Here Mike and Dan are shown applying the base coat. We are using the original color and will apply two coats of base.
     

  After a 15 to 20 minute flash time (check mfg. recommendations) 2 coats of high solids clear are applied. Again check your own specifications. This particular clear has a rating of 52% which means 52% of what you put on the car stays and 48% are evaporative solvents.
